Six companies have been given money from the Jersey Innovation Fund since it was set up in 2014 with a pot of £5 million of taxpayers’ money.

However, responding to a freedom of information request about how much was paid to each recipient and how much of each loan has been paid back, the States said they could not reveal that information because it could prejudice the commercial interests of those involved.

The fund, which was recently moved from Economic Development to come under the remit of Assistant Chief Minister Philip Ozouf, is currently being reviewed to ensure that it is meeting its objectives.
