The home’s manager Carole Keenan explained that the reason behind their parade participation was to ‘raise awareness and reduce stigma’ of the condition.

With no previous Battle experience, Mrs Keenan said that she was keen to secure helping hands for the project – Woodside Farm generously agreed to supply the predominantly yellow and red flowers for the rustic-style float, while veteran float-builders the Jersey Young Farmers Club, who are not entering their own exhibit into this year’s parade, have provided their expertise and assistance to all aspects of the float’s preparation. The club also provided the inspiration for the exhibit, which was designed by Young Farmer Matthew Le Maistre.
