Several have backed Treasury Minister Philip Ozouf’s call to amend road signs that mistakenly use le, la or les before road names, with St Mary already having taken up the cause.
Others, including St Martin Constable Michel Le Troquer, are less enthusiastic, however. He thought parishioners might prefer to see their rates spent on other more pressing issues.
Senator Ozouf said he would be contacting the Island’s Constables about the changes and would also need Jersey Post to change their address database to reflect the revisions and Jersey Telecom to amend their annual phonebook.
