Grants available for employee training

As part of the Skills Accelerator scheme, anyone working for a company employing up to 30 staff can apply for a grant to cover up to 75 per cent of their training costs.

The training can include anything from personal development to vocational or specialist training.

Up to ten per cent of the grant can also be used to cover travel or accommodation costs if the training is provided away from the Island.

Economic Development Minister Alan Maclean said that the scheme, which has £500,000 to allocate over three years, would play an important role in the economic recovery.
