John Pinel has been appointed chief executive of the Third Sector Forum, the group set up by ministers to support the administration of charities and the not-for-profit sector and to help co-ordinate their efforts.
Mr Pinel – a former Army Lieutenant-Colonel who ran Jersey Post for 14 years, and who is the Commander of St John Ambulance Jersey – says that the first big task of the full-time job is to draw up a framework for organisations in the third sector.
