The new minister has formally approved the Dandara’s plans for a three-storey modern building, which include six bedrooms and an indoor swimming pool, on the site of the old restaurant and a neighbouring cottage.
He was forced to reconsider the plans after the Royal Court overturned former minister Freddie Cohen’s refusal of a previous set of plans over ‘serious irregularities and procedural errors’ in determining the application.
But Senator Sarah Ferguson, who lives next door to the site, is making a third-party appeal against the decision to allow the development.
The Senator, who said that she was acting as a neighbour, not as a States Member, said that the plans approved by her States colleague were inappropriate. ‘It is overlooking me and I will have no privacy in my garden,’ she said.
