The company – which employs around 800 people in Jersey at premises in Gloucester Street , Green Street and Grenville Street – announced the local job cuts today.

But staff at the bank were unable to confirm when the staff would be leaving their posts or from which departments the jobs were being cut.

The news is another blow to Jersey’s economy, which is already suffering from a record level of unemployment with 1,810 people out of work.
