Commonwealth Games Scotland have revealed that the accommodation allocated to them in the Games village in Delhi was ‘unsafe and unfit for human habitation.’

Jersey’s team are understood to have been made aware of possible shortcomings in the facilities and urged to focus on their reasons for being at the Games and maintain a positive outlook throughout the competition, which starts on 3 October.

The vanguard of Jersey’s 53-strong squad of athletes and officials leaves the Island on Thursday.
