Georg Boomgaarden will attend Liberation Day celebrations on Saturday and will stay at Government House during his visit. He will be jointly hosted by the Bailiff, Sir Philip Bailhache, and the Chief Minister, Terry Le Sueur.

It will be a particularly poignant visit, as it will be the first time that a German ambassador has been to Jersey for commemorations of the Liberation.

Mr Boomgaarden, who became ambassador to London in July last year, will be attending a number of meetings and visits on Friday 8 May. He will meet the Bailiff and have a tour of the States Buildings and will also hold talks with Senator Le Sueur and his political colleagues along with key representatives from the public service.
