At a crisis meeting last night, float builders agreed to walk out of the parade en masse unless the States provide them with an extra £14,000.

Following the success of last year’s parade, which featured 26 entries, five more organisations want to enter the Battle this year. However, Economic Development will not increase their funding of the Island’s premier tourist event above the ?145,000 that they provided last year, meaning that all 31 could only enter if they each took a ten per cent cut in their grant.
