The anonymous singer has built up a fan base of all ages around the Island with his spoof character based on a traditional Jerseyman. Fortress Island Films have now decided to make a video for one of Hedley’s songs, ‘Take That Grouville’, and have been out and about doing the filming. In the video Hedley is played by ex-naval seaman and paramedic Clive Pearce, who was chosen because of his resemblance to an old Jersey farmer. The video is being produced by Andy Evans, who is a fan of Hedley. ‘We chose Take That Grouville because it made me laugh, but the other songs are just as amusing. Clever songwriter is our Hedley,’ said Mr Evans. ‘No one knows who Hedley actually is. This is of course part of the appeal of doing this video. ‘You wouldn’t believe how many people who asked us what we were filming knew about Hedley’s songs. Young and old all knew of him and wanted to know if we had ever met him.’
