Olly Duquemin also had a good competition, beating brother Ben in the under-19s final 3-1 and Si Aziz in the Men’s B final 3-1, to take home two titles.

SHOOTING – Quenault is champion: Mike Quenault won the Jersey Pistol Association’s ISSF Air Pistol Island Championship Final yesteray.
He finished with a total of 654.70 points to lift the MF Gotel Trophy.
Dave Ward was second with 637.80 and third was Mary Norman with 635.50.
WATERPOLO – Jersey make waves: Jersey lie second in the South East League West Division after beating Cranleigh 16-10 and Oxford 13-9 but losing 9-6 to Basingstoke in a tournament held at Les Quennevais at the weekend.
VOLLEYBALL – Volleyball league results: Ladies: 2e2 Panthers beat Insurance Corporation Jets 3-0: 25-17, 26-24, 25-19; Jackson Fox Panthers beat Gunsite Eastern 3-1: 25-19, 24-16, 25-20, 25-20.
Men’s: Astros beat Pentagon Red Hot Tomatoes 3-0: 25-21, 25-15, 25-19.

ATHLETICS – Spartan’s Cross Country: In the Graeme Le Maistre Cross Country League held at Queen’s Valley, Andy Murfin finished first in the men’s race in a time of 33.53.
Veteran Phil Ahier was second in 34.17 and Jon Coote, also a veteran came third in 35.04.
In the women’s race, veteran Jo McGarry was first in 36.40, super veteran Carol Knight was second in 39.27 and Kerry Petulla was third in 39.45.
Under 15, Wade Le Marquand won the boys’ race in 11.00 with Sam Ward, U12, second in 11.39 and Oliver Terry, U10, third in 11.44.
Felicity Johnson-Deeley, U15, took the girls race, running 11.30 to finish clear of second place Danielle Leerson, U13, in 13.35 and third place Elena Mather, U13, in 14.52.
GYMNASTICS – Regent make the grade: At the Basingstoke Grades 5 and 6 County Competition, nine gymnasts passed their grades with another four achieving distinctions.
Competing at Grade 6, Shannon Huby achieved the highest position of all by placing 16th with a score of 59.80.
Olivia Pollard, Hollie Kempsey and Hannah Galvin also came back with distinction passes.
At Grade 5, Ciara Lambert came out top finishing sixth out of 45 gymnasts with 57.10, making the podium after the floor event as did eight-year-old Olivia Pollard who individually scored 12.30 to give equal second place out of the 45 gymnasts who competed in Grade 5.

With a 15 handicap, he finished 4 up to take the win from Gary Parsons, 12 handicap and 3 up.
