The deadline for the inaugural Jersey Construction Awards is this Friday, 8 April, and the organisers, the newly formed Jersey Construction Council, are keen for people to enter.

JeCC chairman Paul Harding said: ‘The awards will celebrate the achievements of the industry in Jersey and will present a unique opportunity to showcase its positive contribution to the Island as a whole.

Construction always involves change and people sometimes are wary of change – but construction provides better facilities and makes sure that the Island’s future needs, for instance in health and education, can be met.

There are eight award categories – contractor, consultant, client, young achiever, construction and construction project of the year, best use of innovation, and the community involvement award.

The winners will be announced at a gala black-tie dinner at the Hotel de France on 10 June.
