The Constable of Grouville, Dan Murphy, and Deputy Carolyn Labey joined residents from 44 nearby households in pledging to fight the application by Keybait Ltd to build 23 three and four-bedroom houses on Field 773, and an accompanying playground on Field 775.

They say the site is in open countryside, where there is a presumption against large-scale development; is an area of good agricultural land, in demand by farmers; and that Housing president Deputy Terry Le Main has said that no more rural sites would be needed for new homes.

Developer Brian Beadle, of Keybait Ltd, has said that the first-time buyer homes will be built using the modular ‘mantle panel building system’, and that he can cut at least £75,000 from the normal asking price.
