The funds are Jersey-based investment group Liberty Ermitage’s flagship, Liberty Ermitage Asset Selection Fund Ltd, which has $700m of assets under management, and the Liberty Ermitage Resources Fund Ltd, which has $30m of assets under management.

Both funds are listed on the Irish Stock Exchange.

Their change of domicile was completed by Jersey law firm Bedell Cristin towards the end of last year after several months of work involving the co-operation of the Bermuda Registrar of Companies, the Jersey Financial Services Commission and the Irish Stock Exchange.

Martin Paul, head of Bedell Cristin’s investment funds and private equity group, said: ‘The move is good news for Jersey and its thriving expert funds industry.

‘In 2005 Jersey was named as one of the top two jurisdictions for hedge funds in the Legal Week Insight survey of specialist funds advisers.

Decisions like this only serve to reinforce that message.

‘The Island offers a secure and well-established environment and is clearly very highly regarded within the funds community.
