He received warm welcomes at each of the engagements – from youngsters who performed a dramatisation of the historical development of the States; from pupils of Hautlieu School where he performed the official opening; from members of the public who gathered in the Royal Square to watch him arrive for a special States sitting; and from States Members themselves.

The deep affection with which the Queen holds the Island was highlighted by the Prince when he replied to the Loyal address given by the Bailiff, Sir Philip Bailhache.

Prince Charles went on unveil the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Needle at the waterfront and the world’s first holographic portrait of the Queen, produced to mark 800 years of Jersey’s allegiance to the Crown.
