Lord Falconer of Thoroton, the Secretary of State for Constitutional Affairs, has been in the Island with his wife since yesterday afternoon.

This morning he was given a guided tour of the States Chamber and the Royal Court by the Bailiff, Sir Philip Bailhache.

Later today Lord Falconer was due to be briefed on current political issues by the president of the Policy and Resources Committee, Senator Frank Walker, Attorney-General William Bailhache and Policy and Resources Department chief executive Bill Ogley.

Lord Falconer was also due to meet the head of the Jersey Financial Services Commission, David Carse.He was due to return to the UK this afternoon.
