Deputy Roy Le Hérissier is asking the States to approve the setting up of a committee to investigate the circumstances leading up to planning permission being given for the houses on Fields 203, part of 204 and 252 in Jambart Lane.He wants the committee to investigate the procedures for public consultation when potentially controversial applications are made and to report back to the States.

He has also raised questions over the objectivity of planning officers who work with developers on applications. On 27 January, the States voted 28-13 in favour of Deputy Gerard Baudains’s proposal that the size of the Jambart Lane development should be limited to 45 homes.

Two weeks later the Environment and Public Services Committee decided to approve plans for a 75-home development in an emergency evening meeting.
