Japanese SUV brand Mitsubishi has announced full details and pricing for its new Shogun Sport.
The Sport is a more modern offering than the full-sized Shogun, with front-end styling inspired by the new Eclipse Cross mated to a seven-seat body. It’s the sixth SUV model in Mitsubishi’s range, sitting above the ASX, Eclipse Cross and Outlander but below the L200 pick-up and Shogun.

The engine’s mated to a new eight-speed automatic transmission. Mitsubishi claims the combination will be rather less agricultural than we’ve grown used to in the L200 – it says it’s worked extensively to reduce noise, vibration and harshness.

All Shogun Sports are seven-seaters, with a reclining middle row and up to 1,488 litres of luggage space with the rear five seats folded.
The Shogun Sport is only available in high-spec trims in the UK. The range kicks off with ‘3’ trim, which justifies its high £37,775 asking price with a leather interior, full LED lights front and rear, dual-zone climate control, 18-inch alloy wheels and an infotainment display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The new Mitsubishi Shogun Sport goes on sale in July.
