BMW has unveiled its R1250 GS and R1250 RT motorcycles, showcasing the bikes’ uprated technology and engine advancements.
Both bikes, which will replace the R1200, use the same 1254cc engine pushing out 134bhp. However, the biggest reveal here is BMW’s new ShiftCam technology.
Using a shift gate to move the camshaft sideways in the head, the system can change between two cam profiles depending on the position of the throttle.
The bikes benefit from two selectable riding modes – Dynamic and Enduro – as well as automatic stability control and hill start control as standard.
Both motorbikes get LED daytime running lights as standard, while the GS benefits from a full LED headlamp.
BMW has yet to announce full pricing for the R1250 GS and RT models.
