Kia has revealed two new sporty trims and a new automatic gearbox for its seven-seat Sorento SUV.
The new GT-Line and GT-Line S trims start from £36,495 and £41,995 respectively, and have been given a sporty makeover with 19-inch alloy wheels, stainless steel side steps and twin exhaust pipes. S models get headlights that turn with the car, while GT-Line models get standard halogen units.

Inside, there are black leather seats, a leather-trimmed steering wheel and a leather gear knob.
The new automatic gearbox is an eight-speed system, which replaces the existing six-speed unit and is available on four of the seven Sorento trims, coming as standard on GT-Line models.
Kia says that the increased number of ratios contributes to improved economy – the 2.2-litre diesel engine now achieves 43.5mpg and emits 170g/km of CO2, compared with 42.2mpg and 174g/km for the previous automatic model.

The upgraded specification coincides with Kia’s SUV Event, which is running throughout January. Buyers of any of the South Korean car maker’s SUVs will receive the firm’s Care-3 servicing package free of charge.
The offer covers the cost of parts, lubricants and labour involved in a vehicle’s first three manufacturer-scheduled services, equal to three years or 30,000 miles, whichever comes first. The package normally costs from £199, depending on the model.
This is the second year running that the manufacturer has offered the deal, which is available on the Niro, Stonic, Sorento, Sportage and Soul. Customers opting for the plug-in hybrid version of the Niro or all-electric Soul will also receive a free home charging unit.
