WEEK 15 UPDATE
Financial markets have performed relatively well this year and have behaved themselves over the past week. However, it could change very quickly as we are at the beginning of Q1 corporate earnings season. More important than their past results, investors will be interested to learn about their forecasts for the year ahead. For equity investors, this will prove a key determinant on the direction of markets in the months ahead.
This will influence the portfolios of our budding equity managers. After 15 weeks of competition, there is less than a 3% difference between 1st and 5th place in the team’s leaderboard. The 5 Musketeers from Beaulieu Convent School remain in top position with a 21.93% return. AngloPortuguese from Highlands College are now 2nd, swapping places with BSG Investments who are now 3rd. Interestingly, DLS Geckos from De La Salle College have edged into 4th place.
In the overall school’s front, Highlands College continue to top the table from second placed De La Salle College, and Hautlieu School in third spot.
