A SHOP worker has been nominated for going above and beyond and always greeting her customers with a smile in the Customer Service of the Year category.
Rubina Gomez has worked at the Co-op in St Brelade for 24 years and in that time has become a familiar favourite of those who shop there.
Her nominator, Marion Simpson, said she is “always greeted with the warmest of smiles” when she enters the store and Ms Gomez always shows a “great willingness to be helpful”.
Never one to shy from helping others, Ms Gomez also helped Mrs Simpson find her purse when she had lost it after recognisng a photo of Mrs Simpson in it.
Mrs Simpson added: “Whether Rubina has been working in the bakery or on the tills, she will always welcome you with a radiance and smile which seems to come from within.”
