FLEDGLING artists can apply for a new professional development programme in Jersey.
ArtHouse Jersey have launched its Visual Art Mentoring Programme, giving five visual artists access to an experienced professional from the art-world.
Sasha Gibb will mentor the artists on a one-to-one basis from November 2026 to June 2027. She is an experienced art consultant and mediator with experience in both Jersey and abroad.
She said: “Artist mentoring gives artists dedicated space to think seriously about their practice, find their voice and navigate the professional decisions that come with building a creative career.”
The programme is part of ArtHouse Jersey’s ongoing commitment to “nurturing artists and supporting the development of their practice,” Tom Dingle, chief executive of ArtHouse Jersey, said.
Ms Gibb will offer creative, business and personal development advice.
Mr Dingle added: “Sasha can act as a professional ally, someone who can listen, challenge, offer direction and help artists think clearly about their practice and where they want to take it next.”
The programme is open to both artists living and working in Jersey and artists based elsewhere but with a connection to the Island.
Applications close on Monday 12 October. Those who are interested, but not sure if mentoring is right for them, can organise an informal conversation with Ms Gibb before applying by emailing sasha@antonygibb.co.uk. Applications can be made at arthousejersey.je/visual-artist-mentoring
