A MAN has been found guilty of raping a younger woman he matched with on a dating app.
Ian Michael Agostini (31) was found to have committed four sexual offences against a “naïve” and “sexually inexperienced” Islander at his bedsit flat in St Helier last year.
Jurors in the Royal Court deliberated for four hours and twenty minutes before finding the defendant unanimously guilty of two counts of rape, sexual penetration without consent and sexual touching without consent.
Deputy Bailiff Mark Temple thanked jurors for their service and remanded Agostini in custody ahead of a hearing to fix a sentencing date on Friday 4 September.
Full report in tomorrow’s JEP.
