Nominated by: Sharon Tomas
A D’AUVERGNE primary school teacher has been nominated for Teacher of the Year for his “remarkable ability to make every child feel valued, safe and excited to learn”.
“What stands out most is his authenticity,” said Sharon Tomas, who nominated Louis du Feu.
“Whether parents are watching or not, he treats every child with the same patience, compassion and respect. It is simply who he is.”
The parent – whose two daughters and son have both been taught by Mr du Feu – said that while he was an excellent teacher, he was known in the school community for his kindness, always being there to support families in tough times.
Mrs Tomas specifically praised the teacher for “his empathy” and how he “creates a genuine partnership between school and home”.
“He never makes parents feel alone in the challenges of raising young children, often sharing his own experiences to reassure and encourage others,” Mrs Tomas added.
