A MONTH-LONG project to transform the Elizabeth Marina walkway into an open-air gallery lined with large-scale murals is due to be completed tomorrow.
A selection of artists, young people and community participants – all inspired by the theme of ‘Safe Haven’ – have worked together to bring the initiative to life.
The finished piece will see 17 arches along the marina transformed into pieces of art celebrating themes of belonging, connection, resilience and hope.
Delivered in partnership with Ports of Jersey and support from Viberts, the project is aimed at celebrating the marina as a place of “welcome, creativity and community”.
Islanders are invited to attend the celebration, titled Art in the Arches: Safe Haven at the Elizabeth Marina walkway tomorrow from 5.30pm to 7pm.
The event will give attendees the chance to listen to live music, meet the artists and view the completed murals.
Interested parties can register their interest in joining the celebration by sending an email to Carrie Cooper at carrie@arts.je.
