A CHILDREN’S charity has appointed a new chief executive, who takes over from today.

Jersey Cares has appointed Simon Nash, who has previously served global HR director at Carey Olsen and group managing director at Law at Work.

Mr Nash is also a TEDx speaker, author, and co-founder of the Jersey Good Business Charter.

He replaces outgoing chief executive Susie Richardson, who is stepping down after 18 months in the role.

Chair of the board for Jersey Cares, Lisa Floris said that Simon’s “experience” and “values” will be well suited to the organisation.

“We would like to thank Susie for her contribution and commitment during her time with Jersey Cares, and we wish her well for the future,” she said.

“We are delighted to welcome Simon. His experience, integrity and strong sense of purpose make him exceptionally well placed to lead Jersey Cares.”

Mr Nash said he is proud to be joining Jersey Cares, as it plays a “vital role” in “ensuring that people with care experience are heard, respected and supported”.

He added: “The mission of Jersey Cares is deeply meaningful to me and I’m looking forward to working with the team and partners to continue delivering this important work.”
