Today’s 6.55pm sailing to St Malo has been cancelled by DFDS after an incident in which its Tarifa Jet fast ferry “made contact” with the Elizabeth east berth earlier this evening.
A Ports of Jersey spokesperson said that no injuries had been reported and that “we are currently undertaking inspections of both the operator vessel and harbour infrastructure”.

“An investigation will take place with the operator and the vessel’s flag state to understand the cause of the incident,” the spokesperson added.
In a statement, DFDS said that Tarifa Jet “made contact” with the ferry berth while arriving in St Helier harbour, resulting in some damage to the stern.
“No passengers or crew were injured in the incident,” the statement continued.
“As a result, Sunday evening’s sailing to St Malo has been cancelled and we apologise to passengers for the inconvenience caused.”
It added that DFDS officials are working with port authorities and carrying out an inspection of the vessel.
A further update is expected tomorrow morning.
