Senator Andrew Green says he will now use the next few days to ‘take stock’ and admitted he may even consider revisiting the original list of 40 previously discounted options or look at other sites which have not yet been considered.
The minister’s decision to remove the park comes days after senior clinicians urged that it not be discounted and called for a decision on the new hospital site to be made as soon as possible.
Senator Green announced the surprise U-turn in the States yesterday morning shortly before Members were due to debate a proposition from St Helier Constable Simon Crowcroft to remove the green space from the shortlist, which also includes the Waterfront, Overdale and redeveloping the current site.
