Tonnes of soil and rock collapsed in front of the Cheval Roc Nursing and Residential Home at Bonne Nuit this week after being lashed by heavy rain and 75 mph winds and battered by rough seas.
Three rooms in the home closest to where the land fell away, all of which were vacant, will remain unoccupied until engineers have confirmed that the cliff face is stable.
The ten residents who moved in this week have been given the all-clear to remain in the home and engineers assessed the damage to the cliff on Thursday and although they said there was no threat to the building’s structure, further work may need to be carried out to reinforce the cliff face.
