The Magistrate, Bridget Shaw, who was presiding, said that she was keen for the case to be completed as quickly as possible to limit the impact on the school careers of the boys, who are all aged 16 and 17.
Four of the boys appeared in court last month to face their charges for the first time.
A fifth boy who was arrested and released on police bail has yet to be charged.
Mr Huelin, a Victoria College student, died on 5 July.
