Flights between the two islands last operated two years ago, when Aurigny ran a seasonal trial.
Although the service proved to be popular with residents and tourists, the airline decided against operating a permanent service when the trial finished in October 2013.
Now a survey of 540 islanders carried out by the Alderney Chamber of Commerce has revealed that many residents are unhappy with current flights and Jersey was the most popular destination choice for a new air route, ahead of Cherbourg and Exeter, with 88 per cent of respondents saying that they would consider using the Island rather than Guernsey for connecting flights.
