- Find out more about them and watch videos below
- Route 94 and Blonde also set to perform
MERCURY Prize nominees LEFTFIELD and German duo M.A.N.D.Y will be the headline acts on this year’s Jersey Live Dance stage.
Dance music legends LEFTFIELD will bring the two-day festival to a close with a DJ set on the Sunday night, while Philipp Jung and Patrick Bodmer – aka M.A.N.D.Y – will headline the Saturday night.
Announcing the signing, Jersey Live co-organiser Warren Le Sueur described Leftfield as ‘one of the biggest and most important dance acts to have graced Jersey Live’ and said that he was ‘hugely excited’ about seeing them perform.
‘The Dance Stage has been an important part of Jersey Live since we first started and knowing how passionate Jersey’s dance music fans are, it’s always an exciting day for us when we reveal the line up,’ he said.
‘It goes without saying that we’re really pleased to be able to reveal the fruits of our labour over the past few months, and I’m sure Jersey’s dance music aficionados will join me in getting very excited about not one, but two legendary dance acts in Leftfield and German superstars M.A.N.D.Y. joining us for the festival.
‘We’ve got lots, lots more to reveal over the coming weeks, so watch this space!’
Supporting Leftfield on Sunday evening is a new star of dance music, 21 year-old Route 94, whose hit My Love, featuring Jess Glynne, hit the top spot in the UK single charts last year.
Route 94, aka Rowan Jones, has an exhilarating brand of deep house and has previously worked with the likes of Skream, Benga and Katy B.
Jersey Live organisers recently announced that British indie rock band The Vaccines and dance act Rudimental will be headlining the festival’s main stage, with Clean Bandit, George Ezra and The Proclaimers, among other acts, also all set to perform.
Meanwhile, supporting M.A.N.D.Y. on Saturday night is Friend Within.
Described as ‘one to watch’ by Radio One DJ Annie Mac, the young British producer’s raw 808 rhythms, club ready vocal cuts and a deeply addictive woozy-synth hook have seen him collaborate with heavyweights such as Disclosure and Karma Kid.
Also joining the line up are Bristol DJ duo Blonde (AKA Eton Messy), who specialise in house, garage and elements of R&B. They will be joined on the Saturday by Shiftk3y, another producer dealing in garage and house music, whose 2014 single Touc reached number 3 in the UK single charts.
The opening internation artist to perform on the Dance Stage on that day will be tech house DJ Bontan.
Joining the Saturday bill on the Dance Stage is German deep house producer Claptone, who has toured the world over and has won the support of Radio One selecters Pete Tong and Annie Mac, even more so after the most recent essential mix broadcast on Radio One.
Claptone has remixed for the likes of Klaxons and the late Romanthony and blends feelgood vibes with acute melancholia.
Sunday also sees prolific UK duo Psychemagik take to the stage – world renowned for their incredible array of original productions, remixes and edits.
Completing the international line up on the Sunday is Mineo, aka Tom Dinsdale, formerly of Audio Bullys, who last appeared at Jersey Live on the Main Stage back in 2007.
The Dance Stage line up will also feature some of the island’s finest local DJs.
Tamara O’Brien from event sponsors JT said: ‘The JT team is pleased to support Jersey Live for the 10th year as this is a truly local community event with an International twist, that offers something for everyone and the line-up this year just keeps getting better and better.
‘We will soon be announcing our promotional offers to give JT customers exclusive opportunities to enjoy more FREE tickets to Jerseys’ most popular event of the year.’
