The Victoria College student died in hospital on the morning of Sunday 5 July.
For the first time, the boys – aged 16 and 17 – appeared in court to face charges after the death of Mr Huelin. They were charged following a lengthy police investigation named Operation Emerald.
The States police say another 16-year-old is due to be charged with perverting the course of justice.
All of the boys who appeared in court face charges of perverting the course of justice by moving Mr Huelin.
One 16-year-old defendant also faces charges of possessing four indecent images of children, possessing class A drugs MDMA and LSD and being involved in the importation of the class C drug etizolam.
Dressed in suits and flanked by their parents, some of whom broke down in tears during the one-hour hearing, the teenagers spoke only
to confirm their names and addresses.
Magistrate Bridget Shaw provisionally accepted jurisdiction for the case, meaning that subject to pleas or potential trials the boys will be sentenced in the Youth Court, which can impose a maximum sentence of 12 months’ youth detention.
The case was adjourned until Tuesday 5 January.
Advocate Simon Thomas, Advocate Christina Hall, Advocate James Turnbull and Advocate Michael Preston appeared in court to represent their clients.
