The JEP reported in April that TTS had launched an internal investigation after it was alleged that some employees were taking items, including scrap metal, from the site which deals with household recycling.

Although Islanders can take certain designated materials from the centre to re-use TTS said that it believed some staff may have also been taking items – something which they are not entitled to do.

Six employees were suspended on full pay – which complies with States policy – while the investigation took place.

John Rogers, TTS chief officer, told the JEP that following the investigation, individual hearings were due to be held next week.

He added that the employees would learn the outcome of their hearing shortly after all the hearings had been heard.

‘We are pushing forward as hard as we can to get this sorted out for everyone involved,’ Mr Rogers said.

‘The decisions will be made as soon as possible.’
