For the first time in 40 years, the Jersey Long Distance Swimming Club had to officially cancel their annual dip because of dangerous conditions.
But that did not stop two hardy souls – who were not club members – in the shape of The Riddler (aka Cameron Purcell) and The Joker (aka Eddie McCann) getting into the water.
However, their dips were short-lived as they were lifted out of the water by the huge waves and plonked back on to the slipway.
One group of swimmers did get in to the sea at Rozel Bay to raise funds for CLIC Sargent Jersey, a charity that supports children with cancer.
