The Police say that the body had been in the water for some considerable time and that they do not believe there is any link to the recent fatal plane crash off St Ouen’s Bay.
Jersey Coastguard co-ordinated the recovery operation at around 1 pm today and the body was brought ashore at Bouley Bay before being transferred to the General Hospital mortuary.
The Police are continuing inquiries.
