Peter Root (34) was travelling with partner Mary Thompson, who was also killed when the couple were struck by a pick-up truck on a road 70 miles east of Bangkok in Phanom Sarakham last Wednesday.
Mr Root grew up in Guernsey, where his parents Jerry and Marian live, and Ms Thompson was originally from Bristol.
