Le Masurier, one of Jersey’s oldest companies, wants to create up to 200 homes and shops and restaurants across the road from the new Millennium Park in the area around the old Odeon cinema.

However, the plans would also involve losing 150 private commuter car parking spaces from the car parks at the former Odeon cinema and Bath Street.

A total of 130 car parking spaces would be developed for residents of the ‘village’, with a number of short-stay shopper spaces. The number is still to be decided.

The proposal also involves demolishing two listed buildings, 92 Bath Street, currently a florist, and the Original Wine Bar. The façade of the wine bar would be saved, say developers.

Le Masurier have published details of the proposed development, called Parkside Village, and now want Islanders to have their say about the scheme – the latest in a series of plans for the site.
