Senator Alan Maclean is asking the States to employ a board drawn from the private sector to shadow Jersey Tourism.

The number of people visiting the Island has reduced by almost 30 per cent in the last ten years but Senator Maclean believes a move away from a solely States-operated entity would help improve marketing Jersey abroad.

‘The benefit of a shadow board is to get structured, focused and in-depth advice on the day-to-day operations of Jersey Tourism,’ said Senator Maclean whose proposiition will be debated by the Assembly on 11 December.
