Statistics compiled by the national head office of the IoD in London’s Pall Mall show that 18 per cent of the members of the 650-strong Jersey branch of the directors’ club are females.
That is a higher level than in the UK, where 13 per cent of IoD members are women. It is hoped that even more local professional women will join the institute. David Vieira, who chairs the membership sub-committee of the local branch, said that a recent growth in numbers for female members in Jersey was encouraging.
