What the event lacked in sunshine and glorious weather it made up for in festive spirit, and although the rain started again just as the first floats slipped down past Liberty Wharf, the dancers young and old on the floats were undeterred.
Leading with the waving duties was Miss Battle of Flowers Alice Cubbage, accompanied by Junior Miss Battle Jessica Burby. The pair led the parade past Liberty Wharf, around Liberation Square and back round the Esplanade.
The parade involved floats from August’s floral carnival given a festive makeover, and once again the event drew crowds that were both large and loud.
