Police have confirmed that Piotr Pudlowski (28), whose wife and young son lived in Poland, died in hospital as a result of serious head injuries.
Mr Pudlowski suffered the injuries when his BMW 318 saloon collided with a breakdown truck and smashed into a granite wall.
He and a 22-year-old travelling in the same car were both flown to Southampton Hospital following the accident on Saturday 17 April.
The police issued a brief statement this morning, saying: ‘The police investigation into this road traffic collision continues, and a file will now be submitted to the Deputy Viscount for consideration.
‘We can confirm that another man in his 20s who was also injured as a result of the road traffic collision remains on a neurological ward in Southampton.’
