The St Helier Deputy could be investigated by the Privileges and Procedures Committee, who are meeting to consider the issue on Tuesday.
Philip Le Claire, executive director of Jersey Focus on Mental Health, said that he was listening to the States on the radio on Tuesday when he heard the term being used ‘in a schoolboy manner’.
Mr Le Claire said that he was so appalled by Deputy Pitman’s comment that he has asked the committee to look into it.
Deputy Pitman denied using the term and declined to comment further.
