AFTER steady polling across the Island throughout the day, votes are now being counted in Jersey’s first three-tier election.
A record 21 candidates are vying for six Senatorial seats in the States and four parishes are also staging contested elections for Constable. In addition, voters have been given the opportunity to vote in Jersey’s first referendum for or against the introduction of Central European Time, which would add an extra hour of daylight.
Polls closed at 8 pm and the first results are expected at about 9.30.
