ALTHOUGH Jersey Rugby Club began their new season in London Division I with a convincing win over Tring last Saturday, coach Ben Harvey wants there to be no complacency when the Island side face Sutton and Epsom tomorrow.

‘We weren’t as focused as we could have been at the line-outs and allowed them (Tring) to attack us on the blind side,’ he said.

‘We should also have turned more of the possession we had into points. But the boys know that. What pleased me most was the performance of the young lads; Michael Le Bourgeois, at stand-off, Mark Livesey, Luke Le Sueur and Joe Ellyatt, who came on for Kern (Yates) with 20 minutes to go.

‘I thought Michael played an excellent game at stand-off, although we’ve had a talk about it, and he knows he’ll have to improve the kicking part of his game. But he’s a natural stand-off; confident and aggressive. He doesn’t get flustered. So I was pleased for the younger boys.’
