ARCHITECTURE Week will be used to launch the Jersey Design Guide – a compilation of the best examples of Island designs to make sure that applicants, architects and planners are working to the same standards and objectives.
Architecture Week formally begins on 8 September and will include speeches from the president of the Royal Institute of British Architects, public display boards, architectural tours of the Waterfront and St Helier and lectures on sustainability and regeneration.
The week culminates with the 2008 Design Awards at the Royal Yacht Hotel, in which nine awards will be made for buildings completed over the last two years.
The public display at the Weighbridge will take Islanders through the process of creating and refining a design and explaining the purpose of the Jersey Design Guide.
