AS he looks ahead to the next round of the Renault World Series in Monaco this coming weekend, Jersey’s James Walker is keener than ever to eventually compete in Formula I.
‘First Monza, then Spa and now Monaco. This event is a really big deal for me. I want to be in Formula I within the next two years and this is the perfect chance to show what I can do. I’m thrilled to be part of such an historic event and I want a good result,’ he said.
If he is to achieve his lifelong dream he will need one, too, after finishing 14th last year in his first race at Monte Carlo, where the roads are so tight and where overtaking is virtually impossible once you start from the grid.
However, he has been training on a similar circuit at Pembrey in Wales earlier this week and has high hopes of finishing in the top ten in the Monaco Principality.
The 25-lap race begins on Sunday at 11.15 am, immediately before the 2008 F1 Monaco Grand Prix.
