Former vice-president of the society Henry Walker has been proposed to run against Stephen Le Feuvre for the three-year term and with nominations closing next Monday, it looks likely to be a two-way contest.
Mr Walker has staked his claim for the job by saying that he is against the contentious issue of bull semen importation but would help incorporate the scheme if it was passed by the States.
